A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR "CHURCH BOY" POLK
I am running to be a South Bay City Commissioner because I want to help pave the way to a better South Bay. I’m a lifelong resident, home & business owner, landlord, senior pastor of our church, husband, and mentor to many South Bay youth. As a resident of South Bay, I understand our struggles and the issues that are impacting our lives. My goal as city commissioner is to help pave the way to a better South Bay. To pave means to prepare a smooth easy way or to facilitate development; to form a firm level surface for travel. That’s exactly what I want to help our city do. I want to use my experience, education, and eagerness to push forward policies and procedures that make our change sustainable and not seasonal. Let’s get busy creating opportunities to involve our amazing residents who are willing to positively work on committees such as an events committee, beautification committee, community engagement committee, and more. These committees will help us pave the way to a better South Bay. Our residents are one of our greatest strengths, let’s get busy! I’m not interested in hosting an event or doing something just to do it. I will be a commissioner who presents ideas and work along with my cohorts to get positive ideas turned into policies and budgeted so our incredible residents can feel the improvement in their lives. I want to make sure that South Bay will always be a great place to raise a family and somewhere residents are proud to call home. Lastly, I’m a realist so I understand that there’s division among us. But I also know that there’s more that unites us than divides us. Election season generally focuses on the divide, but I want to focus on what we share. For each of us, there’s common ground. And that’s the ground we need to cultivate. • We all want the roads done. • We all want accessible resources. • We all want more recreation. • We all want our city rebranded. • We all want additional residential areas. Therefore, I’m asking you; let's vote on the issues. Let’s vote for the candidate that we believe can make good on their word. Let’s vote for a positive resume and a selfless leader. Let’s vote for a humble and gentle giant. Let’s vote for confidence and not arrogance. Let’s vote for fresh and new ideas. Let’s vote for a proven team player. Let’s vote for a young, credible, creative, consistent, courageous, committed and courteous clergyman. Let’s vote for originality. A vote for Polk is a vote that will push forward progress to sustainable development.
